## Boilerplate

Starvoxel: Defender is a portrait-first co-op merge tower defense for iOS and Android. Two players defend separate lanes while sharing one health pool, or a solo player can team up with an AI ally. Summon defenders, merge matching family-and-rarity pairs from Common to Legendary, choose specialized Evolutions, coordinate upgrades, survive boss waves and protect the shared star.

## What makes it different

1. **One shared failure state:** Each player owns a lane, but every leak damages the same shared hearts. Strong play is about coordination rather than two isolated solo boards.
2. **Merge ladder plus choice:** Matching family and rarity pairs climb from Common through Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary. A Legendary defender then becomes an Evolution choice rather than another merge step.
3. **Seven-family loadouts:** Players choose seven families from a current roster of 15, so the summon pool and the board's strategic identity can change from run to run.
4. **Distinct family identities:** Mechanical turrets cover direct fire, beams, missiles, EMP, chain lightning, flak and cryo control. Creature defenders add auras, poison, burn, stun, artillery, critical-hit support and crystal powers.
5. **Five battlefields and 60-wave runs:** The campaign combines a guided first battle with five increasingly difficult battlefields. Standard solo and online co-op use the same 60-wave structure, including boss waves.
6. **Progression beyond a single run:** Packs, permanent card upgrades, profiles, friends and global progression give players reasons to return after a battle.

## AI-use disclosure

Starvoxel: Defender should **not** be described as an AI-free game. The production main source contains scripts that explicitly use OpenAI's `gpt-image-1` image-generation pipeline, and the released build includes visual assets derived from that production art workflow.

The safe public wording is:

> “Starvoxel: Defender includes AI-assisted/generated visual assets; the developer does not claim that the game is AI-free.”

This kit does not make a broader claim about the origin of every line of code, every sound, or every production contribution. Please do not publish “nothing in the game was created using AI” for this release.
